BBC Radio 5 Live
BBC Radio 5 Live is the fifth radio program of the BBC. It has been on air since 1990, originally under the name BBC Radio 5 Since 2002 there has been a partner station under the name of BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra.
History
During the Second Gulf War in the years 1990-1991, the BBC broadcast on the FM frequencies of BBC Radio 4 a rolling news program, to report on the events, Radio 4 News FM. This format was adopted by the BBC World Service. It proved so successful that the radio of the time given up 5 and was replaced by BBC Radio 5 Live.
