BBC World News is distributed via digital satellite (DVB -S) and in Germany and Austria to some extent in Wired or in the context of channel packages to receive. In Berlin the program between 1995 and March 2007 was also widespread terrestrial (until 2003 analogue and up to 5 March 2007 via DVB -T). Since May 12, 2010 in Leipzig, the program is terrestrial to receive via DVB -T.

The foreign station is operated by the BBC in a commercial and is not intended to be funded from the license fee, but to carry out advertising revenues because the British TV license for exclusively in the UK air channels may be used. BBC World News can in turn be received even in the UK if the satellite dish is aimed at the European Astra satellite.

After the transmitter had been sent from the BBC Television Centre in London, ( also London) has been produced since January 14, 2013, Broadcasting House, which houses a large newsroom as well as several television and radio studios, among others.
