BBCH-scale
The BBCH code gives information about the morphological stage of development of a plant. The acronym officially stands for the Federal Biological Research Centre, Federal Office of Plant Varieties and CHemical industry. The BBCH-scale is used in scientific communication on questions of plant development and the optimal or recommended time of use of fertilizers and plant protection measures in crop cultivation.
BBCH - code stages:
- 00-09: germination
- 10-19: Leaf development
- 20-29: tillering
- 30-39: Bolting
- 40-49: Spiked thresholds
- 50-59: ear emergence
- 60-69: Flower
- 70-79: Development of fruit
- 80-89: seed maturity
- 90-99: Senescence (with annual plants ) or entering the dormancy ( in perennial plants)
