BK Nizhny Novgorod (Russian БК Нижний Новгород ) is a Russian professional basketball team from Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. The club currently plays in the VTB United League.

History

BK Nizhny Novgorod was founded in 2000 under the name of the NBA. There followed several name changes:

• NBA (2000-2002)
• NBA Seti -NN (2002-2004)
• NBA Telma (2004-2006)
• NBA Nizhny Novgorod (2006-2009)
• BK Nizhny Novgorod ( since 2009).

Nizhny Novgorod in 2010 won the Russian Super League B and rose to the highest Russian league, which Professional Well Basketbolnaja league. In the 2010/11 season Novgorod reached the final of the Russian Cup. In the same season Nizhny Novgorod had its European premiere in the Euro Challenge, where he reached the Top16 in the season 2011 /12. Since the season 2011/12 Nizhny Novgorod is one of the participants of VTB.
