Bcl- 2- antagonist of cell death (BAD) is a pro-apoptotic protein of the Bcl- 2 family.

Its effect, it develops, characterized in that it binds an apoptosis -inhibiting protein, and deactivated. If BAD is phosphorylated by the protein kinase B ( by PI 3-kinase in a signal initiated ), it can no longer bind the apoptosis -inhibiting protein.
