Beak#Cere
Cere is called a featherless area in the nose area of birds above the beak (also: skin of the nose ). It was given its name because of its waxy appearance.
The appearance of the cere is in ornithology, a criterion for differentiation of closely related species in geschlechtsdimorphen species such as budgerigars, and gender.
