Beast Machines

Beast Machines (English Transformers: Beast Machines ) is an American CGI series, which is based on the Transformers toy line. The series was produced by Mainframe Entertainment in Canada and the screenplays were written by Bob Skir and Marty Isenberg. The series is a continuation of the series Transformers: Beast Wars and should even more than Transformers: be continued Transtech, which, however, never made it beyond the planning phase.

Impossible to free themselves from their animal mode, they seek refuge in the ruins beneath the surface of Cybertron, where they transform must relearn that. Meanwhile, Megatron takes control of Cybertron and creates a new faction of Transformers: The Vehicons.

Season 1

In the first season the Maximals try to find out what happened to all the transformers of the planet, why are all suddenly disappeared and were replaced with Vehicons. The season culminates in the confrontation between Optimus Primal, Megatron and Tankor, one of the Vehicon generals to wipe out all life on Cybertron technical.

Season 2

The Maximals find out that Cybertron was an organic planet once before he was converted by the oracle in a technical and make it their mission to transform the planet back to its original state. Meanwhile, Megatron recruited two new Vehicon generals, Obsidian and Strika, which should help him to destroy the Maximals. In the season finale Optimus Primal sacrificed to Megatron to destroy and transform the planet into a " techno-organic " and to free the Sparks Transformers of the disappeared from their imprisonment.

Development and production

Production on the series began immediately after the completion of the final season of Beast Wars. The two original writers Bob Forward and Larry DiTillio were replaced by Bob Skir and Marty Isenberg. Through this exchange some gaps emerged in the plotline of the first season, which, however, were adjusted again in the course of the second season. By changing the narrative of the series, instead of stand-alone episodes built on popular stories, it was for spectators, who did not follow from the first episode of the series, very difficult if not impossible to find any sense in the motivations of some characters. Unlike previous Transformers series, the theme song was not specially created for the series, but they resorted to an existing song, " Phat Planet " by Leftfield back.
