Beat Schwerzmann

Beat Schwerzmann ( born April 28, 1966) is a former Swiss rower.

Schwerzmann rowed for the Rowing Club Bern and won during his career 14 Swiss Championship in the various classes Skull.

In 1986 and 1987 he was tenth respectively in the quadruple sculls at the World Rowing respective championships. At the Olympic Games in 1988, he joined together with Ueli floor man in the double sculls; behind the Dutch Ronald Florijn and Nico Rienks won the two Swiss the silver medal with 28 hundredths of a second ahead of the boat from the Soviet Union. After a fifth place finish at the World Rowing Championships 1989, two in 1990 changed in the quadruple sculls and won along with Marc -Sven Nater and Alexander Ruckstuhl the silver medal behind the Soviet quad. 1991 missed the four Swiss A-final at the World Championships and occupied a total of only eighth. At the Olympic Games in 1992, the four rowed into the A-final and missed the bronze medal in fourth by six hundredths of a second.

Beat Schwerzmann is married since 1991 with the German rower Ingeburg Schwerzmann, born Althoff.
