Beate Gummelt

Beate Gummelt ( Helga Beate Gummelt, born Anders, born February 4, 1968 in Leipzig ) is a former German race walker. By 1990 they started for the GDR.

At the World Athletics Championships 1987 in Rome, they came in a 10- km walk on the 16th Place. In 1989 she won over 3000m Go Gold at the Indoor Athletics Championships in The Hague and silver at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Budapest. In 1990 she defended her title at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow and was at the European Championships in Split Sixth over 10 kilometers.

In 1991, she won over 3000 meters at the World Indoor Championships in Seville and was at the World Championships in Tokyo in ten over 10 kilometers. The following year saw a bronze medal over 3000 meters at the European Indoor Championships in Genoa.

With the Olympic debut of women walking in Barcelona in 1992, she took the 16th place over a distance of 10 kilometers., She finished fourth over 3000 meters at the World Indoor Championships in Toronto and Fifth about 10 km at the World Championships in Stuttgart in 1993.
