The Beatles Square is a public square in Hamburg- St. Pauli circular with a diameter of 29 meters and black flooring that visually reminds the course of the Reeperbahn and Grosse Freiheit confluence, to a vinyl record. At the edge of the square silhouettes sculptures of the five Beatles musicians (including Stuart Sutcliffe ) have been set up. This place is a reminder of the importance of Hamburg in the history of the Beatles, where the foundation stone was laid for their international career. It was designed by the architect Dohse & Stitch and scored in a public tender before the award of a number of other competitors. The works were created in about three months, so that the opening ceremony was held on 11 September 2008 by the Mayor of the city. The Beatles monument consists of metal figures of the band members as well as in the bottom inset engraving of titles successful songs of the Beatles.
