Beau Bridges

Beau Bridges ( born December 9, 1941 in Hollywood, actually Lloyd Vernet Bridges III ) is an American actor. It gained great notoriety, especially in the 1970s and 1980s.

Life

Bridges is the son of actor Lloyd Bridges and older brother of actor Jeff Bridges. His first roles he already took over as a child in the 1940s. Thus his way was already mapped out early. As a student he played basketball in the college league and was on his way to becoming a professional basketball player, but for the benefit of acting, he gave up another sport career. In 1967 he played his first leading role in a movie.

Bridges received various TV Awards: Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award for his television roles. From 2005 to 2007 he was part of the regular cast of the sci-fi series Stargate SG- 1, and thus was also a wide audience away from the known film roles. He also starred in the series The American intelligence agency - in the crosshairs of the CIA as director of the CIA. He also plays since November 2005 Carl Hickey, the father of the " good-for- nothing" Earl Hickey in the U.S. sitcom My Name Is Earl. 2009 Bridges received for his guest appearance as Eli Scruggs in the episode The Best Thing That Ever Could Have Happened series Desperate Housewives his twelfth Emmy nomination.

Beau Bridges has been married since 1984 to his second wife and the father of five children from his two marriages, including his son Jordan from his first marriage, who is also an actor.
