Beaverhill Lake

The Beaverhill Lake is a lake in the Canadian province of Alberta.

The 139 km ² lake is located 70 km east of Edmonton in the counties of Beaver and Lamont. The Beaverhill Creek drains the lake periodically to the North Saskatchewan River. The lake and its surroundings are an important resting place for migratory birds. The Beaverhill Lake is protected as a wetland under the Ramsar Convention since 1987. The lake lost in recent years (1999-2009), like many other prairie lakes of water depth and area.
