Béchar Province

The Bechar (Arabic ولاية بشار, DMG Wilāyat Bassar, even Bashar ) Province is a province ( wilaya ) in western Algeria.

The province is located at the Moroccan border and covers an area of ​​181 020 km2.

With a population of around 255,000 people ( 2006 estimate ), it is very sparsely populated, the population density is 1.4 inhabitants per square kilometer.

The provincial capital is Bechar.
