Geography

Bechtheim situated within the conservation area "Rhine Hessian Rhine area ". The municipality also includes the residential places Bechtheim -West and Welheimer yard.

History

A Frankish nobleman named " Bero " should have taken in the 6th century here his mansion and " Beroheim " founded, from which developed the place Bechtheim. A precursor of today's Church St. Lambert was built in the 8th century by the Bishopric of Liege, whose family has owned the place came at that time.
