Becky Skillman

Rebecca S. " Becky " Skillman ( born September 26, 1950 in Bedford, Lawrence County, Indiana) is an American politician. Between 2005 and 2013 she was Deputy Governor of the State of Indiana.

Career

Becky Skillman graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion. Then she hit as a member of the Republican Party launched a political career. Since 1977 she has held various offices in the administration of Lawrence County. In 1992 she was elected to the Senate from Indiana, where she rose to the Caucus Chair of the Republican faction.

In 2004 Skillman was elected to the side of Mitch Daniels as Vice Governor of Indiana. This office she held for a reelection between 10 January 2005 to 14 January 2013. She was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. She was also Director of the Authority to promote tourism, the Energy Group and the planning authority of their state (Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority ) and the Ministry of Agriculture. For 2012, they first sought a nomination for governor, but then got out of the primaries.

With her husband Steve she has a son.
