Bečva Bridge at Rybáře

The Bečva ( German Bečva, also Betsch, Beczwa ) is a left tributary of the Morava River in the Czech Republic. It arises in Valašské Meziříčí by the confluence of the Vsetínská Bečva ( Upper Bečva ) and Rožnovská Bečva ( Lower Bečva ). Are located on their run to the northwest the places Lhotka nad Bečvou, Choryně, Hustopeče nad Bečvou, Milotice nad Bečvou, Černotín, Teplice is sought, Hranice na Morava, Zadnà family, Přední family, Tyn nad Bečvou, Lipník, Osek nad Bečvou, Oldřichov na Moravě, Prosenice, Radslavice u Přerova and Přerov. After 61.5 km, the Bečva opens in Troubky in March.

In Hranice the Bečva flows through the White kirchener Karst. On the right bank of the nature reserve Hurka u Hranic lies with the 289.5 m deep white kirchener abyss.

On Bečva Weir in Troubky Mala Bečva originates. The left side of this branch of the river follows the March and ends in the Moštěnka.

History

The first written mention of the river and of its two source rivers took place during the great colonization in 1215 under the name Betsch or Beyx.
