Beeb Birtles

Beeb Birtles, born as Gerard Bertel Kamp ( born November 28, 1948 in Amsterdam, Netherlands) is a Dutch- Australian musician. He is known as one of the founding members of the Little River Band.

When he was 9 years old, his parents emigrated from Adelaide, Australia. During his time in high school Bertel Kamp discovered his interest in music, especially for American blues and British Mod At school, his nickname was "BB Eyes", " after a character in the Dick Tracy comics. After finishing high school, he formed his first band, Zoot. At this time he shortened his nickname to " Beeb " and changed its name to " Birtles " around.

Zoot broke up in 1971. Birtles and his former bandmate Daryl Cotton then founded the combo Frieze. At the end of the year he was then engaged in also relocated from Adelaide to Melbourne band Mississippi, later, the Little River Band emerged from the.

After the great success of the Little River Band in the late 1970s and early 1980s Birtles left the band in 1983. He married Donna Brooks, who worked as a secretary for the Little River Band, and the couple had two daughters.

In 1992, Birtles and his family moved to the United States in order to Jefferson City, Missouri, before they moved on to Nashville, Tennessee. Finally, in 1998 founded Beeb Birtles with Bill Cuomo, the production company "Sonic Sorbet ".

Birtles still makes music along with Presberger, Goble and Shorrock, who sang along even with the Little River Band.
