Beelitz is a district of the city Arneburg in the district of Stendal, in Saxony- Anhalt, Germany.
Geography
The three miles of the river Elbe and about ten kilometers from the district town of Stendal Altmark village located south of the Brushes, a flat, a number of drainage ditches ( ditch Balsam ) pervaded area.
History
Beelitz was first documented in 1204. On 1 July 1973, the church lost its independence and became a district of the city Arneburg, the independence was restored at the beginning of 1991.
Due to a change in the contract area, the municipal council of the municipality Beelitz decided on 4 November 2008, that the church Beelitz is incorporated into the city Arneburg. This agreement was approved by the county as a lower municipal supervisory authority and entered into force on 1 July 2009.
At the time of incorporation was Beelitz with 69 inhabitants ( as of 2007) is the smallest municipality in the district of Stendal.

Coat of arms
The coat of arms was approved on 28 March 1995 by the regional council of Magdeburg.
Blazon: " square of blue and silver; Field 1 and 4: a golden heraldic lily ".
The two golden lilies stand for the noble dynasty of Beelitz ( first mentioned in 1204), the blue tincture for the balm ( balm Erland, Balsamgau or Belsheim ) in the former parish of the diocese of Halberstadt. The silver buttons are for Beelitz ( Slav = white spot).
Attractions
It is interesting to Beelitzer stone church, whose tower is directed to the east. Therefore, one also speaks of a " wrong " church, of which there are few in Germany.
Transport links
Beelitz can be reached via the highways from Stendal to Arneburg or from Stendal to Goldbeck. The few kilometers distant communities Goldbeck and Eichstedt ( Altmark) lie on the line Stendal - Wittenberg.
