Germinal Beerschot Antwerp since 2000

After a series of financial problems Marc Brys was hired as coach in 2004. The Belgian led the team to the national cup victory - the only trophy that the club was able to win after the merger - after a 2-1 victory against the Belgian champions FC Bruges. Scorers were Karel Snoeckx and Kris De Wree. Thus, the team was able to participate in the UEFA Cup. In the following season, Marc Brys but was released after only 7 games. Until then, only 4 were taken from a possible 21 points. He was replaced by Jos Daerden, who landed with the club at end of season to sixth place. For season change Jos Dearden was replaced by controversy with Board of Directors by Marc Brys. After only one ( 2006/ 07) was replaced by Marc Brys Harm van Veldhoven.

Because of the breakdown of the players such as François Sterchele, Hernan Losada, Gustavo Colman, Kenny Steppe and Ederson Tormena Germinal Beerschot seemed under coach van Veldhoven gradually to establish in the upper third of the table. Highlights here were a series of nine consecutive victories during the 2007/ 08 season and fifth place in the final table.

The start of the 2008/09 season was not satisfactory. Germinal Beerschot lost in the second round of the Intertoto Cup against Neftchi Baku and took the eleven league games, only 8 of the possible 33 points. When the team in the seventh round of the Belgian Cup competition failed against the third-class Racing Mechelen, the coach Harm van Veldhoven has resigned. Shortly afterwards, the former Belgian national coach Aimé Anthuenis was presented, but this was dismissed at the beginning of the following season due to poor results. Jos Daerden was appointed as his successor. Although the team after the first round ended in third place - which also after the merger set a new club record - the Treaty of Jos Daerden was due to a disappointing second round are not extended. The vacant coaching job took over Glen De Boeck. In the season 2010/11 the results were not satisfactory and Glen De Boeck was released on November 29, which was replaced by Jacky Mathijssen.

Beerschot AC

In February 2011, Patrick Vanoppen acquired 99 per cent stake in the club. The association then was restructured. In May of the same year, the club name was changed officially to Koninklijke Beerschot Antwerpen Club (K. Beerschot AC). The new logo reflects on his club history and gives the bear again a prominent place. The character to the left of the bear refers to the numbering of the Mayas and should be read as " 13" - the number also represents the first surviving registration number, assigned by the Royal Belgian Football Association. Beerschot still retained the registration number ( 3530 ) of Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen in order to keep their place in the First Division. By keeping the registration number of Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen, although the earlier successes of Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen, but not that of Beerschot VAC were included in the club of Beerschot. And the acorns in the logo again: In addition there is the Latin proverb " quod Tene bene" (hold fast what is good or keep it permanently, because it is good German. ).
