Beijing Great Wheel

The Great Beijing Wheel is a under construction ferris wheel in Chaoyang Park in Beijing, China. On the website of the operator the name " Beijing Great Wheel" is to be read next to the name " Great Beijing Wheel".

General

Construction was 27 May 2006. Originally scheduled for the first quarter of 2008 provided for completion has been postponed to 2010. Since May 2010, however, the work rest as the competent construction company has filed for bankruptcy. The height of the Ferris wheel will be 208 meters. Thus, it would be the largest Ferris wheel in the world. According to the operators, an improved version of the London Eyes was sought.

It will weigh 2800 tons and 40 passengers can be transported in each of the 48 capsules.
