Beijing Yanjing Brewery

Yanjing Beer (Chinese燕京 啤酒, Pinyin Yanjing Píjiǔ ) is a brand of beer and brewing from the Shunyi district in Beijing and the national brewery of the People's Republic of China.

Yanjing beer is a malty, slightly ahead of you tongue lager. Its name comes from the old name for Beijing, which was in use before Christ from the fifth to the third century. It was brewed in 1980 for the first time. The brewery was one of the main sponsors of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. The beer is exported, among other things to Austria, Germany, Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom, the USA etc..

Today, the site of the brewery includes over 2,220,000 square meters. It is equipped with 20,000 employees, a large beer manufacturer in China. About 40 million hectoliters of beer are produced annually using the latest German technology and brew from Canadian and Australian grain.

A 0.66 -liter bottle costs in Beijing converted about 40 euro cents (as of May 2008).
