Beinerstadt

Beinerstadt is a municipality in the district of Hildburghausen in Thuringia. It belongs to the administrative community Feldstein. The administrative headquarters are in the town Themar.

Geography

The municipality includes the villages of St. Bernard and Wachenbrunn. It extends across the St. Bernharder limestone plateau with rocky and barren soil and lies at an altitude 380-470 m above sea level. In the municipality there are 94 acres of forest, mostly mixed forest.

History

Beinerstadt was first mentioned in 796 as Perinheressteti ( place a Hofstette ). Rule default, the location in the Official Themar first belonged to the county of Henneberg, after 1583 to various Saxon duchies and 1826-1918 of Saxe -Meiningen. In 1920 he came to Thuringia. Beinerstadt 1690 was affected by witch hunts. Barbara Arnet, " the Schulbarba " called, caught in a witch trial.

The council is composed of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009:

  • The Left: 3 seats ( 49.9%)
  • TSV 1900 Beinerstadt: 2 seats ( 33.4 %)
  • CDU: 1 seat ( 16.6%)

The turnout was 63.1 %.

Culture and sights

  • The Protestant village church was built as a church choir tower in the Middle Ages and rebuilt in 1750. Began in 1998 with the support of the German Foundation for Monument Protection, a renovation of the building.
  • The Keltenerlebnisweg leads as a national trail through the community.
