Beinhausen

Beinhausen is a municipality in the volcanic Eifel region of Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Kelberg.

Geographical location

The place is located in the natural park Eifel between Kelberg and down the river Lieser. During the municipal reorganization of Rhineland-Palatinate the place came in 1970 to the municipality Kelberg.

History

In the Middle Ages Beinhausen belonged to the office down in the Electorate of Trier. For the first time mention is the place in documents on August 10, 1290 as Beinchenhusen. Later, in 1311, is one of the Beyirhusen speech and finally in 1504 in a contract of sale, a certain " Clais van Beyhusen " and the " Church Champion Hilgenrait " called. Under Prussian administration of the City Municipality was in the mayor's Sarmersbach.

Beinhausen is predominantly Catholic and the parish seat of the Catholic parish of St. Hubertus Beinhausen to the next Beinhausen itself, the villages Boxberg, Neichen, Kradenbach, Nerdlen, Sarmersbach and Gefell belong. Until the beginning of the 20th century also Katzwinkel belonged to Hilgerather parish. The area of the parish Beinhausen is commonly referred to as Struth.
