Belaynesh Oljira

Belaynesh Oljira (born 26 June 1990) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner.

In 2010 she won the Nice Half Marathon, was second in the 10 km du Conseil Général, the Fourth Lille Half Marathon and each second in the 15 -km competition of the Istanbul Marathon and Marseille - Cassis.

The following year she was at the World Cross Country Championships 2011 in Punta Umbria Tenth and won with the Ethiopian team silver. In the Ethiopian Championships, she won the 10,000 m, and at the Delhi Half Marathon.

In 2012 she presented the half-marathon competition of the Houston Marathon with 1:08:26 h on a course record. At the Prefontaine Classic 10,000 m they could qualify with a third place and a time of 30:26,70 min for the Olympic Games in London, where she came in fifth place. A sixth place at the Delhi Half Marathon in the fall followed at the beginning of 2013, a fifth-place finish at the Dubai Marathon.

In the Cross Country Championships in Bydgoszcz, she won bronze in the individual and again silver in the team competition. After a third place at the Ostrava Golden Spike in the 10,000 m she was in 30:31,44 min nominated for the World Athletics Championships 2013 in Moscow, where she won bronze in 30:46,98 min.
