Belem Guerrero

Belem Guerrero Mendez ( born March 8, 1974 in Mexico City) is a former Mexican cyclist.

Belem Guerrero was together with her ​​compatriot Nancy Contreras to the Mexican train women cyclists world-class end of the 1990s and into the 2000s. Her specialty was the points race. In 1997, she was able to place first in this discipline at UCI Track World Championships on the podium when she was third in Perth. Other successes in the points race at track world championships in 1997 were the second place in Bordeaux in 2001 in Antwerp and in 2004 in Melbourne each third place.

At the Pan American Games in 2007 in the Venezuelan Valencia Belem Guerrero won the points race on the track and at the Pan American Games in the same year in Rio de Janeiro, she took a second place in the road race.

Thrice Guerrero took part in the Olympic Games, Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004. At the Athens Games, she won a silver medal in the points race, road race she finished 46th place.

In July 2008, Belem Guerrero Mendez declared their retirement from cycling.
