Belfield (Guyana)

Belfield is a village in the province of Demerara- Mahaica in Guyana. It is located on the Atlantic coast, three kilometers west of Enmore. Belfield in 1854, connected to the Demerara- Berbice Railway, which was opened in 1848 from Georgetown to Plaisance. The village has since 1949 Belfield Girl's School, a juvenile detention center.
