Supposedly the photo of the UFOs sighted

The Belgian UFO wave refers to a cluster of UFO sightings in Belgium, which lasted from November 1989 to 1992.

Sightings

The Belgian UFO wave peaked in the night of 30 to 31 March 1990. According to a report in the Sunday Express of 1995, unidentified flying objects were recorded on radar, photographed and watched by about 13,500 people that night. 2600 of these witnesses had submitted written observations, a quarter of which was studied, the majority remained without explanation. Following the events of the Belgian Air Force published a detailed report on the events. The observed lights seemed to be located at the vertices of an isosceles triangle. Two F -16 fighter aircraft from the military airfield Beauvechain were sent to investigate the phenomenon. During her 65 - minute observation they photographed the object fifteen times. Once the target accelerated from a speed of 240 km / h to 1770 km / h, it changed its height within two seconds of 2743 to 1524 m.

The Daily Telegraph reported in 2009 also on the phenomenon, referring to the report of General Wilfried de Brouwer, after which the radar detection of objects is confirmed by F -16.

Photography

In April 1990, an alleged image of the flying objects was known (the illustration above right shows another similar photo). The picture is still one of the most famous UFO pictures. It was about 22 clock on 4 April 1990 at the village of Petit- Rechain near Eupen, only four days after the UFO hunting over Belgium produced a large media attention with F -16 fighter aircraft. The existence of only one photo was explained that the slide film fit only two photos, of which only one was able to capture the object. This slide came into the hands of SOBEPS and was digitized for image analysis. In 2011, a person came with the confession to the public, a photo montage using styrofoam and hung radiators created to have.

Attempts to explain

After consideration of the ufologists Renaud Leclet, some of the sightings with the use of military helicopters could be explained. Also CENAP includes military and civilian flight activity as a cause not and further performs the seemingly rapid change of position of the objects on radar interference, caused by meteorological effects back. The radar observations stood in no correlation with the UFO observations by eyewitnesses.

Other skeptics, such as Jean -Michel Abrassart see in the multitude of sightings a self-reinforcing psychological process. Prompted by media reports of the UFO sighting of two policemen, people unusual observations speak in the night sky at a greater importance than they would have normally done. The reports they were encouraged to interpret their observations as UFOs and report the sighting.
