Bell 429

The Bell 429 is a twin-engine helicopter achtsitziger the U.S. manufacturer Bell Helicopter turbine powered.

Development

The first flight took place on 27 February 2007, approved by the Canadian Aviation Authority TCCA was made on 1 July 2009, approved by the EASA in accordance with CS -27 took place on 23 September 2009, with the first delivery in late 2009 is provided. The Bell 429 is manufactured in Mirabel, Canada.

Until November 2005 already 136 orders were available (02 /2008 260), to be delivered from the second half of 2009. The unit price is around 5-6 million U.S. dollars. Beginning of 2013 was presented the Bell 429WLG, a development with retractable landing gear and increased flight performance.

Technology

The model is based on the Bell 427, but has a larger cabin with a flat floor, avionics, which also allows a single pilot instrument flight and a four-bladed main rotor with variable speed. The Bell 429 can be supplied either with a retractable wheeled undercarriage ( then called Bell 429WLG ) or with skids. An optional tailgate for patient transport is available. When driving two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW207D1 - shaft turbines serve with FADEC.
