Bellegarde (Gard)

Bellegarde is a municipality with 6336 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in France and is located in the department of Gard, in the Languedoc- Roussillon region.

The municipality is located in the wine-growing region of Languedoc wine region Clairette de Bellegarde his name, is marketed under the exclusively white wine. The red wines and rosé wines of the region are marketed under the name Costières de Nîmes, which are paradoxically associated with the Rhône wine region.

Geography

Bellegarde is located near the eastern boundary of the department of Gard, on the right bank of the Rhône River, halfway between the neighboring village of Beaucaire and Saint- Gilles. Bellegarde is 17 km from Nîmes and 15 km from Arles, on the fairway of the Rhône- Sète Canal and has its own small harbor.
