Bellevue is a city in the U.S. state of Washington. It is located east of Seattle in King County and is one of 122 363 inhabitants.

History

The history of the city dates back to the year 1869. After two years earlier began in Coal Creek coal mining, was operated in the area of present-day Bellevue intensive forestry to supply the coal mines with timber. Since 1880, the city takes its present name.

At the turn of the 20th century Bellevue was an agricultural town whose inhabitants engaged in commerce in 1904 to the Seattle area, including the construction of the railway line of the Northern Pacific Railway to more distant areas. In 1940 the city with the construction of a bridge over Lake Washington is a direct road connection to Seattle.

The game developer Valve and ArenaNet have their headquarters in Bellevue.
