Belmont is a small suburb of Boston ( USA) in the Middlesex County of Massachusetts. The site is bordered to the west on to Cambridge. Other neighboring towns are Arlington, Lexington, Waltham and Watertown. Since about 1940 the entire city area is built, and the population commutes since then about 25,000.

Industrial and commercial

Belmont is primarily a living and sleeping village without significant industry. Larger supermarkets are, apart from the clothing store Macy's, only in the neighboring towns.

Environment

Because of the old buildings and then use lead-based wall paint most of the houses in Belmont are lead- burdened. Infants should not live in such apartments, the landlord is - if suddenly a toddler lives there - committed to partial remediation. The sweeping of lead paint can be detected by a " de -leading certificate" by the landlord.

Infrastructure
