Belmonte Castello
Belmonte Castello is a municipality with 781 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the province of Frosinone in the Italian region of Lazio.
Geography
Belmonte Castello is located 56 km east of Frosinone and 145 km south-east of Rome. Esliegt on a hill between the valley of Comino and the cassinate, north of Cassino. It is a member of the Comunità Montana Valle di Comino. The municipality covers an altitude 115-1243 m slm
The municipality is located in the seismic zone 1 ( high risk ).
The neighboring municipalities are Atina, Sant'Elia Fiumerapido, Terelle and Villa Latina.
Traffic
Belmonte Castello, is connected by state road 509 Forca d' Acero di, of Cassino in the Abruzzi to the road network. About it can also be reached in 18 km, the junction of Cassino A 1 Autostrada del Sole.
In Cassino is also the nearest railway station on the route Rome - Naples.
History
Belmonte Castello was since the Middle Ages a fortified place, who belonged to Atina.

Policy
Antonia Ianetta (civic list Grappolo d' Uva ( Grape) ) was elected in March 2010 for the mayor. He replaced Ermanno Giannandrea (2005-2010), who did not run.
