Belo

The Belo Corp.. is a publicly traded American media company. It originated in the middle of the 19th century as a newspaper publisher. After restructuring in 2008, he is now owner of 20 television stations and two regional cable news channels. The company is based in the Texan city of Dallas. It is the oldest continuously existing businesses in Texas.

History

The origin of the company was a newspaper publisher in Galveston, published in the April 11, 1842 from the Daily News. In 1857 he began the publication of the Texas Almanac.

Alfred Horatio Belo acquired the publishing house in 1876. Beginning in 1885 he produced with the daily newspaper, The Dallas Morning News, the flagship of the house and sat George Bannerman Dealey as an editor. 1923, the Journal was sold in Galveston, and the company moved its headquarters to Dallas. 1926 AH Belo Corporation, the name was changed, and since 2002 he is Belo Corp. ..
