Belokurikha (Russian Белокуриха ) is a small town in the Altai region in southern West Siberia (Russia) with 14,661 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The village lies on the southern edge of the steppe landscape of Bijsker level in the far southeast of the West Siberian Plain. To the south rise the northwestern foothills of the Altai Mountains on ( Tschergijski Crest).

History

The place was in the second half of the 19th century established in place of hot springs on the eponymous river, the were the local population already known since the 18th century.
