Belt dryer

The belt dryer is a device of the thermal process engineering for continuous drying and cooling of solids, pastes, fibers, moldings and boards with the help of air, inert gas or flue gas. A specific application of this device allows the shrinkage of PE film, or POL- foil in the packaging or printing industry (see also shrink wrapping ).

Operation

The belt dryer, or belt cooler is a device for an especially gentle product treatment. The wet material is continuously and evenly fed into an inlet chamber and passes through mostly on horizontally disposed perforated drying belts drying chambers. It is of heating gas flows over and dried by or. The drying chamber is divided into several chambers that can be respectively equipped with an air circulation fan and a heater. Each dryer cell can be individually controlled. Produktanströmgeschwindigkeiten the cooling air of the drying can be varied in each cell. In addition, the transport speed of the material to be dried can be varied, whereby an additional parameter to adjust the drying time of the material is given. The heating or cooling of the cells may be direct or indirect, in which all heating media, such as oil, steam, hot water or hot gases can be used.

Design Features

The belt dryer is run on a modular basis. Each volume consists of the dryer inlet head, the dryer cells and the outlet head. There are a variety of types of dryers such as

  • Belt dryer
  • Multi-stage dryer
  • More drier
  • More belt dryer

Ventilation variants

One can basically distinguish between flow-through and over -air dryers. The direction of flow may be in accordance with the treatment process from top to bottom or from bottom to top, with, or laterally, are selected about the product.

Exemplary conveyor belt variants

  • Chain-guided wire belt
  • Chain-guided hinge - plate band
  • Chain-guided metal plate band
  • Chainless wire belt

Product task variants

  • Roll granulator - filter cake or formless or pasty products
  • Swing band - sensitive, pourable products
  • Auger
  • Rotating arm - task device - form solid products
  • Board task

Typical applications

The belt dryer is used in the following industries:

  • Chemical Industry
  • Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Food and feed industry
  • Minerals Industry
  • Plastic industry
  • Wood industry ( for example, veneer dryer)
  • Ceramic industry
  • Printing Industry

Examples of products
