Geography

Almost the entire district Bempflingens lies between the valleys of Erin's and the Autmut. Through the community of Eduard Mörike trail and the Ermstal fruit Bike Trail. South of the Pure Forest towards Altdorf ( Bempflinger height ) you can see the panorama of the Swabian Alb of Hohenzollern on the Jusi up to the three imperial mountains.

Neighboring communities

Adjacent communities are Neckartenzlingen northwest, north Altdorf, northeast Großbettlingen, all in the district of Esslingen; south Grafenberg and Riederich, both in the district of Reutlingen.

Structure

Bempflingen consists of the two districts Bempflingen and small bed Lingen.

History

Bempflingen was probably founded in the 5th century by Alemanni. This can also be concluded from the place name, which is probably linked to the name Beonfil. At the point where the Alemannic series burial ground was found, was previously a Roman estate.

Bempflingen was first mentioned in 1090, when the Count Kuno von Wülflingen and Liutold Achalm with her nephew, Count Werner von Grüningen, in the so-called Biemphelingin Bempflinger Treaty estate planning and in particular to hedge its Foundation monastery Zwiesel signed. At that time Bempflingen still belonged to the county Achalm.

Since the early 14th century, the settlement of the KaiB family belonged. Later, the city went through sale and inheritance to the Lords of Baustetten and the Lords of Mansberg. 1448 Württemberg acquired the Baustettischen 1465 and also the Mansberger part of the town. 1639 came Bempflingen with the pledge stem Achalm for ten years under Austrian rule, with the Peace of Westphalia, however, returned to Württemberg. After the administrative reorganization of the early 19th century came to Bempflingen Oberamt Urach, later to the district Nürtingen. The county reorganization of 1973 led to membership in the district of Esslingen.

Bempflingen is dominated Protestant since the Reformation. However, there is also a small Catholic church.

Mayor

In the mayoral election November 8, 2009 Bernd Welser was elected with 87.72 % for the successor of the incumbent mayor on the first ballot. The turnout was 66.29 %.

Parish council

The council has 15 members in Bempflingen since the last election. The turnout at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 was 57.16 %, and resulted in the following distribution of seats:

The council consists of the elected honorary councilors and the mayor as chairman. The mayor is entitled to vote in the local council.

Coat of arms

Blazon: Under a double row of silver (white) and Black geschachten main shield in blue, a silver (white ) oblique beams, topped with three red arrowheads.

The coat of arms refers to the blue sign and occupied with three red arrowheads silver oblique bar on the previous local lords, the lords of Baustetten, which included three-quarters of the town in the 15th century. The Lords of Mann Mountain, which also had property in Bempflingen are represented by the checkerboard coat of arms.

The municipality flag has the colors red and white (red- silver). Flag and coat of arms of the municipality in 1957 was awarded by the Ministry of Interior.

Economy and infrastructure

Traffic

Bempflingen is by the Neckar -Alb -Bahn (Stuttgart - Horb am Neckar ) connected to the national rail network. The Bempflingen station was dismantled to stop a few years ago. There, at least hourly regional trains towards Tübingen ( from there usually continue to Herrenberg ) and Plochingen. In rush hour, there is a stop of the Regional Express train Tübingen -Stuttgart, apart from this there is no transfer-free connection to Stuttgart more.

Coming from Nürtingen Bempflingen is the last stop for which the tariff applies the VVS. For further direction Metzingen to 2008 still a DB ticket was necessary; January 1, 2009 Bempflingen was integrated into the naldo fare, so to proceed to Tübingen only a naldo ticket is necessary.

Education

In Bempflingen there is the primary school " on walls", the visit secondary schools is possible in Neckartenzlingen, Metzingen or Nürtingen. There are also in Bempflingen three kindergartens, two of which (hemp land and on walls ) are in the main town and a small bed in Lingen.

Structures

  • The foundations of today's Bempflinger mill date back to the 1659. For the mill, which is first mentioned in 1391, the Ermskanal was created.
  • The Protestant Stephanus church was built in the 13th century as a replacement of an older previous building in the late Romanesque style, which are in today's buildings and the north wall and the lower part of the tower receive. Two of the bells date from 1464 and in 1468.
  • The schoolhouse was built in 1773 new.

Supply and disposal

Power supply

The electricity network in the municipality is operated by EnBW Regional AG.

Gas supply

The natural gas network is operated by the Fair Energy GmbH, a subsidiary of Stadtwerke Reutlingen GmbH and EnBW Municipal Investments GmbH.

Water supply

The first public water supply was built in 1909. Today, the entire municipality of Bempflingen and small bed Lingen is supplied with pure water from Lake Constance.

Sanitation

The Association of Purification Bempflingen -Ried Erich runs a common treatment plant for the sewage of the communities Bempflingen and Riederich.

Waste

For waste disposal waste management company of the district Esslingen is responsible. There are separate collections for organic waste, household waste and paper. Packaging will be collected as part of the Green Dot in so-called yellow bags. Bulky waste will be picked up free of charge annually to two vouchers or can be brought to a disposal station. At the disposal stations also electrical and metal scrap and other recyclable materials will be issued.
