Ben Bostrom
Benjamin "Ben" Bostrom ( born May 7, 1974 in Redding, California) is an American professional motorcycle racer.
Career
Ben Bostrom comes from a motorosportbegeisterten family. Father Dave and Uncle Paul Bostrom were successful Dirttrack driver, his brothers Eric and Tory are also motorcycle racer. Ben Bostrom began at a young age with dirt track racing. In 1993 he won the National 600 Dirt Track Championship AMA, 1995 he moved to the road racing.
In the 1998 season, Ben Bostrom was able to Honda RVF 750 RC45 starting, secure the championship title in the AMA Superbike Championship, the U.S. Superbike Championship, although he did not win a single run. In the same year he made his debut as a wildcard rider in the race at Laguna Seca in the Superbike World Championship and reached third place in the second race at first his first podium finish.
1999 Ben Bostrom was now on the Ducati Team Vance & Hines, Mat Mladin behind runner-up in the AMA Superbike Championship. When World Championship race at Laguna Seca he scored this year a race win and a second place.
Due to his strong performances Ben Bostrom rose for season 2000 permanently into the World Cup. He drove in the factory Ducati Team Ducati Infostrada a 996, his team-mate was the four -time world champion Carl Fogarty from the UK. 2001 Ben Bostrom launched in team Ducati L & M because he had been replaced by Rubén Xaus in the factory team, but again had work material. After a difficult first half of the season with some racing falls he showed in the second half very strong performances. Bostrom won five races in a row and was the World Cup third behind Troy Bayliss and Colin Edwards. After a winless 2002 season with Ducati L & M with a far- severed fifth world rank Ben Bostrom began in 2003 and again in 2004 in the U.S. Championship. He drove for American Honda RC 51 first, later a CBR 1000 RR and each was fourth in the overall standings.
For the 2005 season, Ben Bostrom tried on a Honda CBR 1000 RR Team Renegade Koji 's return to the World Cup stage, but there was little success. With just a few placings in the top ten, he finished the season at the 15th World Cup ranking.
2006 Bostrom returned to the AMA Superbike Championship and started on the side of Neil Hodgson with factory support team Parts Unlimited Ducati Ducati 999 R. After a difficult season in which the two-cylinder Ducati the more powerful four-cylinder engines, specifically the Suzuki's Ben Spies and Mat Mladin had not much oppose, Ben Bostrom reached ninth place in the overall standings. At the Grand Prix of USA 2011 Ben Bostrom will be 37 -year-old made his debut in the MotoGP World Championship. He will compete in the MotoGP class with a wildcard in the team LCR Honda RC212V from Lucio Cecchinello on as teammate Toni Elías the Spaniard.
