Ben Browder

Robert Benedic Browder ( born December 11, 1962 in Memphis, Tennessee ) is an American actor.


He grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and attended Furman University in Greeneville, South Carolina, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology.

Ben Browder's family ran a few years ago a NASCAR Busch racing track, but gave it to them in order to concentrate fully on the NASCAR career of his brother Neil.

After graduating Browder went to Europe and studied in London at the Central School of Speech and Drama. There he met his future wife, Francesca Buller, whom he married after his graduation in 1989.

In the television series Farscape Ben Browder played the astronaut John Crichton, who finds himself after a failed space experiment in an unexplored part of the galaxy.

Ben Browder and his family have lived almost four years in Sydney, Australia, but after the end of the series Farscape, which was filmed there, they returned to the U.S., where Browder some guest appearances in popular shows like CSI: Miami had and some film roles played. From 2005 to 2007 he was a regular on the series Stargate - Kommando SG -1 and each played a major role in the following two series on the films Stargate: The Ark of Truth and Stargate: Continuum.
