Ben Caunt

Ben Caunt ( born April 22 1815 in Hucknall Torkard, † September 10, 1861 in London) was a British boxer of the bare- knuckle era. His nicknames were Torkard Giant and Big Ben. From the latter nickname possibly also the name for the heaviest bell of the famous clock tower of the Palace of Westminster in London is derived.

He had on September 22, 1857 42 years against five years younger Nat Langham His last fight. This ended in a draw, as both fighters were too exhausted to continue the fight.
