Ben Cross

Ben Cross ( born December 16, 1947 in London as Harry Bernard Cross) is a British actor.

Life

Cross studied at London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. He debuted in the early 1970s in an episode of the TV series Wessex Tales, later he starred alongside Michael York in the TV movie Great Expectations (1974). In the award-winning drama film Chariots of Fire (1981 ) he played the Jewish athlete Harold Abrahams.

Cross played in the TV series Palace of the Winds, the main role of Ashton Pelham- Martyn, in other roles were, among others Amy Irving, Christopher Lee, Omar Sharif and John Gielgud to see. In the TV movie Open Season (1988 ) Cross took over Mariel Hemingway next to one of the main roles in the thriller Hydro toxin - The bomb is ticking in you (1992 ), he played opposite Pierce Brosnan. In the movie The 1st Knight (1995 ) with Sean Connery, Richard Gere and Julia Ormond, he was seen as an evil prince Malagant.

Cross was nominated three times for the CableACE Award: in 1984 for the lead role in the television series Palace of the Winds, in 1989 for the lead role in the TV movie Open Season and 1996 for his appearance in an episode of the TV series Poltergeist - The Legacy. For his role in the television series Dark Shadows in 1992 he was nominated for a Soap Opera Digest Award.

Cross was married in the years 1977-1992 with Penny Cross, with whom he has two children. Later he married again.
