Ben Gibbard

Benjamin Gibbard ( born August 11, 1976 in Bremerton, Washington) is an American musician who has become successful with several indie projects. He is the lead singer of Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service.

Life

Gibbard grew up in Seattle and was educated as Roman Catholics. Moreover, he said, "I 'm one of those indoctrinated Catholics, although I have not been on their own initiative in the last ten or 15 years in the church. "

He later moved to Bellingham. He completed his engineering studies at Western Washington University. He graduated from in environmental sciences. He played in the rock band Pinwheel and met at a concert Chris Walla, later guitarist of Death Cab for Cutie. In early 1999 he started his solo project as ¡ All- Time Quarterback! .

Ben Gibbard supports organizations Planned Parenthood and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA ) and founded by Neil Young Bridge School.

Ben Gibbard got engaged on December 28, 2008, Zooey Deschanel. They married in September 2009. In November 2011, their separation was announced.

On October 16, 2012, he brings his solo album Former Lives out on the independent label Barsuk Records (U.S. ) and City Slang (EU).
