Ben Howard

Benjamin John "Ben" Howard ( born April 24, 1987 in London ) is an English singer-songwriter.

Biography

Howard has been involved through the record collection of his parents, the artists of the 1960s and 1970s such as Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Richie Havens or Joni Mitchell influenced. His mother played guitar and flute, and took at open mic nights of Dartingtons Academy of Music part. His father, an interior designer played, every now and then guitar.

Ben Howard studied at the Torquay Boys ' Grammar School. Subsequently, he studied journalism. Six months before graduation, he broke from this, however, to pursue his artistic career.

Howard joined initially on a small scale in the UK and were as his concerts sold out months in advance to give him a record deal was offered by the label Iceland Records. Convinced of the history of the label, which had artists like Nick Drake and John Martyn under contract, signed Howard.

Published in 2011 the singles Old Pine, The Wolves and Keep Your Head Up, the latter of which reached the UK Singles Chart. On October 3, 2011, his first album Every Kingdom was released. Howard is since August 2011 on a tour through Europe and the United States. On 31 October 2012 published Ben Howard The Burgh Iceland EP with the single Esmerelda.

Howard played in 2012 at numerous major international festivals including T In The Park and South by Southwest. From the concert at Antigel Festival in Geneva sent Germany Radio knowledge on 7 September 2012, recording.

On stage he is regularly accompanied by India Bourne ( guitar, cello, keyboards, ukulele, bass, percussion, backing vocals ) and Chris Bond ( guitar, bass, drums, percussion, keyboard, accordion, backing vocals ).
