Ben Kweller

Ben Kweller ( born June 16, 1981 in San Francisco, California as Benjamin Lev Kweller ) is an American musician from the fields of anti-folk and indie - pop. His biggest successes came as a music nomad in the style of Paul Weller.

Life

Ben Kweller grew up in Texas and learned early on writing songs and playing instruments. At the age of seven years, his father tried to teach him to play the drums; at the age of eight years Ben played both drums and guitar. As a teenager, Kweller played in the bands Green Eggs & Ham and Foxglove. Initial success was still young Ben Kweller but only with his third band, Radish, celebrate. This band has quickly become a local size in or around Dallas. The record company Mercury Records eventually took Radish under contract until the band separated in 1999. The expected success had failed, only one Top 40 hit in the UK charts was indulged Radish.

From now on Kweller appeared as a solo artist, later together with the likes of Adam Green and The Strokes, but also with friends like Evan Dando and Ben Folds. Published as a solo musician Ben Kweller previous six albums, four of them under the label ATO (which was founded by Dave Matthews and Michael McDonald ), one under the Sony label Red Ink The latest album Go Fly a Kite was in 2012 under its own label The Noise Company brought out.
