Ben More (Mull)

The Ben More ( Big Mountain in Gaelic ) is a 966 meter high mountain in Scotland. It lies on the belonging to the Inner Hebrides Isle of Mull in Argyll and Bute and is the highest peak of the island. The Ben More is the only Munro on Mull and the only Munro on a Scottish island outside of Skye. It lies on the western peninsula Ardmeanach. The view from the summit is one of the best of the Inner Hebrides.

There are several opportunities for advancement. The easiest way is from the shores of Loch na Keal northerly through the Coire nam Fuaran with about three hours of walking possible. A more sophisticated rise also leads from Loch na Keal on the lower summit Beinn Fhada and A'Chioch and the intervening exposed Verbindungsgrate. Because the rocks are mesmerizing near the summit, there may be differences in the use of a compass.
