Ben Rich

Benjamin Robert Rich ( born June 18, 1925 in Manila, † January 5, 1995 in Ventura, California ) was an American aircraft designer. He was after Kelly Johnson from 1975 to 1991, the second director of the famous Skunk Works of Lockheed in Burbank, California. Under his leadership, there was the first stealth aircraft in the world, the F -117A Nighthawk. He was also involved in the development of the following aircraft: F- 104, U-2, SR- 71, A -12, and F- 22nd

Awards

He was a member of the National Academy of Engineering and won while serving a variety of prices, for example, the Collier Trophy. He was inducted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame in 2005.
