Ben Stiller

Benjamin "Ben" Edward Stiller ( born November 30, 1965 in New York City ) is an American actor, screenwriter, film director and film producer.

Life and career

Stiller grew up as the son of famous comedian Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara in New York City. He has Jewish roots, his grandfather William Stiller was the son of Jewish immigrants from Austria and his grandmother Bella Citrine, the daughter of Russian Jewish immigrants. In addition, his mother Anne Meara converted to Judaism before his birth. Was clear early on that he and his sister Amy Stiller would follow in the footsteps of their parents. His parents often have cameo appearances in his films.

After numerous short films that turned Stiller with the Super -8 camera his father, he had aged ten years, an appearance in the television series Kate McShane. He broke off his studies and turned a parody of the film The Color of Money, in which he played the role of Tom Cruise. His breakthrough came in 1998 with Stiller 's Something About Mary. In 2000, he had another big success with the comedy My bride, her father and I, in which he starred opposite Robert De Niro. Published in 2004 a sequel to the film My wife, her parents and I, in the next to the old cast also Barbra Streisand and Dustin Hoffman are shown. Another sequel was published in 2010 under the title My wife, children and I, in which his sister Amy Stiller plays along.

Currently, Stiller was named one of the U.S. Forbes magazine's best-paid male actors in Hollywood. Between June 2007 and June 2008, he received fees in the amount of 40 million U.S. dollars and was ranked seven of the top earners in Hollywood. In 2011 he moved up to 6th place, but with only 34 million U.S. dollars.

Stiller is married to fellow actress Christine Taylor since 2000. The two have a daughter (* 2002) and a son (* 2005).
