Ben Verbong

Ben Verbong (* 1949 in Tegelen ) is a Dutch film director.

Life and career

After studying at the Amsterdam Film Academy Verbong wrote in 1977 together with director Guido Pieters the script for the Dutch-Belgian television series veterinarian Dr. Vlimmen.

In 1981, he directed the film The Girl with the red hair. For his film Lily was here steered the 1989 Eurythmics founder David A. Stewart for the soundtrack.

Since 1997 Verbong also working for various German TV stations. Thus, the Tatort episode was, among other things in 1999 for the German children of violence.

In 2000, he has led in his hometown Tegelen at the Passion Play that take place there every five years directing.
