Ben Woollaston

Ben Woollaston ( born May 14, 1987 in Leicester, England ) is an English snooker player.

Career

Woollaston qualified for snooker season 2004/ 05 for the first time for the main tour, but could not retain its status as a professional. By winning the EBSA European Under -19 Championship, he qualified in 2006/ 07 again for the main tour. Also at the second attempt he could not gather enough world ranking points to sporty to qualify for next season. Thanks a wild card he won in 2007/ 08 to complete his third season as a professional. His best result of the season, he scored at the Welsh Open in 2008 when he only failed in the round of last 32 against Stephen Hendry. At the end of the season he again lost its status as the main tour player.

For the 2009/10 season, he qualified on the Pontin's International Open Series. Although Woollaston reached since no final round of a tournament rankings more, but he was able to consistent performances in the qualifying rounds and the introduced since 2010 Players Tour Championship hold on the main tour. In 2011 he won the PTC Event 3 with a 4-2 final victory over Graeme Dott his first professional tournament.

His best result at a full ranking tournament he scored for the Grand Finals of the Players Tour Championship 2012/13, where he first retired in the quarterfinals against Kurt Maflin.

Private

Woollaston since June 2011 with Tatiana, a Belarusian snooker referee, married. They met in the course of the Paul Hunter Classic know 2010.
