Benbrook is a city in Tarrant County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States of America.

Geography

The city is located at the junction of Interstate 20 with U.S. Highway 377, north-east of the geographic center of Texas, in the southwestern corner of Tarrant County, and has a total area of 31.2 km ², of which 1.6 km ² water surface. The distance from Dallas to the east is about 80 km away and Fort Worth in northeast about 16 km.

History

The city was founded in 1857 mainly by settlers from Tennessee and first called Miranda. 1876 ​​moved the Texas and Pacific Railway their tracks to the area and the town was renamed in Benbrook, by a native of Indiana James M.
