Bench (weight training)

A weight bench ( for horizontal version also Bench Press, with an inclined design of the entire surface and negative bank) is usually a padded bench and is used for strength training with long and short weights and at different fitness exercises.

Weight Benches are available in various designs that enable the training of the abdominal, shoulder, leg, arm and back muscles depending on the model.

Most weight benches are divided into two parts, a long and a short part. Both parts are adjustable so that you can make out of the bank and a seating device when the long part is erected. Another common name for this version is incline bench.

Supplements

A weight bench can be supplemented by the following training tools:

Weights

  • Barbell: Almost every weight bench in a gym is equipped with a barbell, which must be lifted with two hands. They weigh 10-20 kilograms. On each side of the bar weight plates are pushed so that you can adjust the weight of the rod, which acts on the muscles during exercise. The entire arm, shoulder and chest muscles is stimulated and strengthened when used correctly.
  • Dumbbell: The Dumbbells (usually two) are much shorter and are arm exercises. They too can be varied using weights. Classic exercises include bicep curls.
  • Draw weights: These are several rectangular pieces of cast iron, each weighing 2.5 to 15 kg. They are moved with a cable and are integrated into the exercise equipment.

Training equipment

  • Leg Press: A leg press is a device with which the quadriceps is trained. You sit here on a seat with his back against a support surface and has the feet against a movable plate pressed connected with weights.
